Doula Services

What is a doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth. Research shows that when a doula is present, labours are often shorter with fewer complications, breastfeeding is easier and babies are healthier.

How are your doula services different?

As both a Naturopath and Certified Birth Doula, I can provide diverse tools during labour to ease pain, promote relaxation and facilitate labour. This can include acupuncture, homeopathy, massage, guided meditation and much more. I am also trained in the rebozo technique.

Additionally, I can also advise you on how to have the healthiest pregnancy possible through our work with nutrition, pre-birth acupuncture, working through health concerns that may arise and postpartum care.

What does a birth package include?

My birth package includes the following:

In order to use tools such as acupuncture at your birth, you must first become a patient at my clinic. After the initial patient intake, we can then proceed in setting up your birth plan.

FAQs about Doulas:

We are so grateful to have had Kate as our doula. Kate was instrumental in helping us reach our goal of having a delivery without any pain medication. She was calm, patient and attentive through the long labour.  Most appreciated was how she guided my husband to be a supportive and helpful presence and kept me strong and focused through my contractions.
Kate was an integral part of our beautiful birth experience.
